History

This pastel is depicting the four stages of Jewish history: The patriarchs, the temple times, when bikurim, or first fruits, were brought to the temple, the gallus, or dispersion, which is constricting and narrow, but just as there is a ner tamid, an everlasting light, the Jewish people are a ner tamid- an everlasting people.

And the third temple times, when we can learn in tranquility, and live as Jews in peace in the land of Israel.
